PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The “World Bank HOPE Program” is an umbrella term for three interconnected World Bank programs in Nigeria: HOPE-Governance (HOPE-GOV), HOPE-Education (HOPE-EDU), and HOPE-Primary Health Care (HOPE-PHC). Collectively, these initiatives aim to address governance challenges, improve quality and access to basic education, and strengthen primary healthcare systems in Nigeria to foster human capital development and economic growth.

Key Components & Objectives

HOPE-GOVERNANCE (HOPE-GOV)

Focuses on improving financial and human resource management in the education and primary healthcare sectors.

HOPE-EDUCATION (HOPE-EDU)

Supports bold reforms in basic education to equip young people with foundational skills, improve educational outcomes, and strengthen the system.

HOPE-PRIMARY HEALTH CARE (HOPE-PHC)

Aims to improve the utilization of essential healthcare services, enhance the resilience of the health system, and reduce maternal and under-five mortality.
